Dear Valued Stakeholder!
In this era, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has become a strategic resource and the foundation of most social and economic activity both at an individual and institutional level. In recognition of the transformative power of ICTs, the Government through the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) spearheads the digital propagation and improvements that will make and facilitate industrialisation strategy of the country, in line with the vision of the 5th Government of the Tanzania ably led by H.E. Dr. John Pombe Joseph Magufuli.
The strategic goal of Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) aims at improving living standards of the people in the country, is clearly stated; - “To enhance the welfare of Tanzanians through effective and efficient regulation that promote innovation and ensure universal access to secure, quality and affordable communication services”. This can be achieved by effectively regulating electronic and postal communications services, promote efficiency among service providers and protect consumer interests with an objective of contributing to development in the United Republic of Tanzania.
In order to track organizational goals and other important information, you may be aware that we have inaugurated the TCRA Client Service Charter, which aims at enhancing our transparence, reliability and creating public awareness of the availability and quality of the services offered by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority. We have established clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate implementation of the Client Service Charter. Furthermore, TCRA has upgraded its ISO 9001 certification – Quality management System to ISO 9001:2015. Subsequently, Quality Policy has been restated as: - TCRA is committed to achieve its strategic goal and ensure customer satisfaction through Quality Management System. In view of this, we will start using ICT to carry out an internal measurement to track our performance. Dashboards will be providing at-a-glance views of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to a particular objective in the Client Service Charter.
As always, I remain incredibly thankful to our staff, my Board of Directors and customers for the many contributions they make to our organization on a daily basis. I hope that you share my excitement about the enormous achievements of our Institution and I hope that the innovative new activities of the TCRA motivate you to continue to support the important work we are doing. It is only by the engagement, input, and dedication of our interested parties that these kind of initiatives can come to be useful to our country. I encourage each of you to think about ways in which the TCRA can be more relevant and support you in your daily life be it business, research, socialising and your broader engagement with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
TCRA is committed to its corporate positioning statement of ‘Creating a Level Playing Field’ and will accord a level playing field to all service providers, protect consumers’ rights and ensure that efficient quality services are provided for the sustainable development of the country.
