Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) periodically develops and implements public awareness campaigns with the goal of enhancing public awareness of communication services and reducing instances of fraud resulting from a lack of knowledge about their proper use.
1. "Sambaza Mchongo na Sio Uongo" Campaign
Is a public awareness campaign that aimed at eliminating challenges facing users of communication services as a result of diverse use of online communication services. Some of these encounters were online abuse and circulation of false information that in one way or the other offended the public. The campaign targeted the general public that consume communication services.

2. "Kwea Kidijitali" Campaign
The Kwea Kidijiti campaign aims towards promoting the beneficial use of communication services. The campaign dedicates itself to solving challenges facing the majority of the public, especially concerning online fraud and cyberbullying. It raises awareness on SIM-card verification, online fraud, cyberbullying, and the beneficial use of digital opportunities.

3. SIM-Card Verification Campaign
The campaign that was conducted countrywide from December 2022 to March 2023, educated users of mobile communication services procedures to follow to verify their active Sim-cards with the objective of enhancing secured communication services and increase unique digital identity. The campaign witnessed 98% of users registering their active sim-cards and TCRA continues to urge new users of communication services to ensure their sim-cards are biometrically registered and verified.This campaign increased the number of verified SIM Cards and eventually contributed to the reduction of fraudulent actions that resulted from the use of vague Sim Cards. The campaign also complemented database accuracy of communication services users.
